Favourite #1 Red Apron’s Peanut Butter Banana Handcrafted Granola

As promised I am going to start writing about 5 of my favourite local products. Today I start with number 1, amazing granola from the Red Apron on Gladstone.

The Red Apron is a wonderful place that offers a unique meal service to the community. A great place for busy families or singles it’s ever changing menu brings comfort food and designer dishes to your table. You can drop by and pick something up out of the freezer to take home or you can purchase gift certificates (I have done so in the past year for a few new moms). They also have a delivery service that serves a large section of the city.

I recently purchased their handcrafted Peanut Butter Banana Granola after reading about it in a local publication. The recipe actually belongs to Justine one of their staff who will soon be branching out with the product (will keep you posted).

This is definitely worth the trip to Gladstone. Made with organic ingredients the two key, banana chips and peanut butter seal the deal for me. It’s nutty flavour and crunchy texture add excitement to plain yogurt and a flavourful twist to oatmeal. This delicious concoction is a must for peanut butter lovers, as it is rolled in the stuff!

I’m sold. I think this will be a staple in our cupboard from now on, and it may be the gift I bring to the holiday brunch tables.

  1. The only purchased granola I have ever enjoyed was from a bakery in Toronto. I would go to Toronto just to buy their granola. You would scoop it out of a great big bin and be surprised at the cash register how much you actually were going to pay for it….but it was worth every penny.
